Lewis and Kristen Burke have been married for 12 years.  During their first year of marriage, they felt called to pray and intercede for the nations of South-East Asia, especially the Kingdom of Cambodia.  After serving as youth pastor, a part of a Church planting team, and establishing a college ministry, the Burkes felt is was time to move to Cambodia and establish a Christian ministry there.

In January, 2002, the Burkes moved to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to see how the Lord would use them in that part of the world.  They moved with open hearts and minds and a vision to reach the orphans, widows and downcast of society.

Sterling, 10, and Benjamin, 7, are a vital part of the ministry.  Sterling’s soft heart and willingness to make friends with any and everyone makes him a true friend to the orphans at Heritage House.  Benjamin is a true leader in the making.  He sizes up situations, people and circumstances and gives direction whenever he can.  Srey Roth, 16, came to live with the Burke family in January of 2003.  Her parents had both died of AIDS and she was living in a Cambodian orphanage.  After much prayer, the Burkes were granted official custody of Srey Roth from the Cambodian government.

Please pray for the Burke family as they continue to seek the Lord for the direction of Lighthouse Ministries.  Pray for the strength of their family and the health of its members.  Please pray for Lewis and Kristen’s marriage to continue to grow and be an example to the Khmer people of what a Biblical marriage can look like.  Pray for the children’s education.  Sterling and Benjamin are home schooled while Srey Roth attends a local Christian school.
