The   Maing   children came to us through a fellow missionary and under difficult circumstances.  Their father had passed AIDS to their mother two years before and then left the home.  We assume he has already passed away.  Their mother had advanced stages of the disease plus tuberculosis when we met her.

Thankfully, their mother had become a Christian after the father had left.  She was very ill and wanted to be sure the children were taken care of by a Christian home.  Her courage and willingness to face her disease without bitterness toward her husband was an inspiration to all of us.  It had to be difficult to ask someone else to care for her children, but her love for them and desire to see them raised with Christians outweighed the desire to keep them with her as she struggles physically.

Chantah has never met a stranger.  Smiling and hugging on anyone he meets,  he brings joy to all in which he is involved in.  He loves to worship the Lord and pray.  He enjoys school and is in the first grade at Hope School.

Liet Kanah is always smiling, singing and talking.  She loves to be with people and brings a real peace to everyone around her.  She is very bright and catches onto new words in English and Khmer almost daily.  Whenever we pray for someone, she is always the one in front with her hand on them praying.

Please pray that the children will continue to grow in the knowledge of Jesus.  Pray that their desire to praise, worship and intercede will continue to develop.  Pray for their future education and for good jobs for them one day.  Please pray that they are born again and become witnesses for Jesus in the nation of Cambodia.
