Mari
* 05 December 91

            The Dait family came to Heritage House from Ta Kamo province.  Their aunt was a Christian and lived in Phnom Penh.  She was single and currently taking care of two other nieces but wanted to make sure the Dait children were in a Christian home.  Their mother had died of AIDS two years before they came to the home and their father three years before of disease.

Because the children were living with another aunt and her husband,  the Christian aunt was afraid of possible sexual abuse (a common problem in Cambodia).  The aunt they were living with was a devout Buddhist and often took the children to the pagoda and had witch doctors into their home to perform various rituals.

            Mari is currently in 6th grade at Hope School, but is really struggling academically.  She is wounded from years of trying to sort out where she fits.   Mari is a talented young lady with lots of potential and she is slowly coming out of her shell and discovering who she is in Christ.

            Madi is all smiles and hugs.  She warms up to anyone within minutes after meeting them and always enjoys being with people.  She is currently in 3rd grade at Hope School and doing good.  Sbe is at a critical age in discovering what God desires for her life.

            Pumin is a pleasure to be around.  He is always smiling and enjoying whatever he is doing.  Pumin enjoys a good game of marbles, swinging or playing soccer.  He is currently in 1st grade at Hope School and doing good in his studies.

            Please pray for these precious young children as they continue to grow in their knowledge of Jesus.  Pray for their adjusting to a Kingdom culture that is foreign to this world and much different from the environment from which they came.  Pray for their schooling and for their future as young women and a young man in this society.
